Due giorni a FILO

Il 22 e il 23 febbraio abbiamo avuto l’opportunità di presenziare a Filo, fiera di filati che da anni ha luogo presso il Palazzo delle Stelline durante la Milano fashion week.

Filo, è un appuntamento irrinunciabile nell’ambito del tessile b2b, durante il quale filature italiane ed estere d’eccellenza presentano i propri filati a produttori di tessuti per abbigliamento, arredamento e accessori di qualità.

Da molti anni, gli studenti del Biella Master partecipano alla fiera per promuovere il master e raccontare la bellezza della loro esperienza. Quest’anno, noi 4 abbiamo fatto del nostro meglio per allestire uno stand che parlasse del nostro percorso ed allo stesso tempo spiegasse il valore della nostra formazione per il settore tessile.

Durante i 2 giorni di fiera abbiamo anche avuto la possibilità di trascorrere una giornata ospiti di 4 importanti filature, tanto diverse tra loro quanto uniche ed interessanti: Elisa è stata ospite allo stand della Filatura Pettinata Luisa 1966, Giulia di Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia S.p.A, Margherita G. di I Cotoni di Albini S.p.A. e Margherita C. di Filati Buratti S.p.A.

Elisa

La giornata trascorsa presso lo stand della Filatura Pettinata Luisa 1966 a Filo è stata molto formativa e il tempo è volato grazie allo spirito e alla gentilezza dello staff. Durante gli appuntamenti, con clienti sia italiani che esteri, ho preso coscienza di quanta attenzione sia dedicata alla clientela.

Mi ha colpita inoltre la varietà dei prodotti che utilizzano, al tempo stesso tradizionali ed innovativi: i filati di lana, alpaca e seta vengono mixati ad eccentriche fantasie e fibre sperimentali tra cui la proteina del latte, la rosa e il bamboo.

Mi ha entusiasmata la flessibilità dello stock service: l’ampia gamma di colori, con possibilità di studio personalizzato dei filati e l’ assenza di limiti quantitativi minimi hanno permesso alla Filatura Luisa di essere reattiva e innovativa sul mercato.

Buratti è una storica azienda biellese specializzata nella lavorazione della seta Schappe.

Cos’è la seta Schappe? Sino a oggi credevo che fosse solo la seta prodotta con il cascame della bava continua dei bachi; una sorella meno pregiata della rarissima seta Crevettes.

Durante la giornata passata allo stand di Buratti ho scoperto che, in realtà, la seta Shappe è un mondo: si fonde con lana, cashmere, viscosa e talvolta cammello, spazia dai classici pettinati fino agli stoppini fantasia dagli effetti bouclè, fiammati e shantung . Può essere tinta in filo uniforme o miscelata con effetto melange ed è generalmente Mulberry da allevamento, bianca e morbida ma a volte anche Tussah, da baco selvatico, rustica e ramata.

Questa piacevolissima giornata mi ha certamente iniziata alla seta ma mi ha anche lasciata con una gran voglia di scoprire i luoghi dove questi sottilissimi capolavori sono stati creati.

Se dovessi scegliere un aggettivo per descrivere la mia esperienza presso lo stand di Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia sarebbe sicuramente "completa". Questo in quanto è stata per me l'opportunità di vedere concretamente compiuto il percorso di preziosi filati, sapientemente esposti in campioni, e toccare con mano il risultato finale di lavorazioni uniche ed innovative a cui avevo assistito nel corso dello stage svolto in filatura pettinata presso lo stabilimento Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia di Lessona.

Fin dai primi minuti, dopo un’ottima accoglienza, mi è stata fornita una panoramica della ricchissima offerta di filati che l'azienda offre. Successivamente ho potuto approfondire, assistendo alle presentazioni delle collezioni da parte dei commerciali, le caratteristiche distintive e le specifiche applicazioni di ogni filato. Infine, nel corso del pomeriggio ho avuto modo di confrontarmi anche su tematiche di marketing relative al brand che mi hanno ulteriormente fatto percepire la profonda conoscenza delle fibre e dei filati, oltre che la passione, che si riscontra in chi lavora in tutte le fasi di un settore complesso e poliedrico come il tessile e che ha reso ulteriormente completa e istruttiva questa magnifica giornata.

Ieri ho trascorso una giornata in compagnia dei commerciali di I Cotoni Albini S.p.A., azienda di filati del Gruppo Albini che nel 2012 ha completato il controllo della sua filiera aggiungendo la fase di filatura.

All’interno dello stand dell’azienda ho assistito alla presentazione della collezione autunno/inverno composta da filati pregiati, realizzati con cotoni di altissima qualità o mischie intime con lana, seta, cashmere e lino.

E’stato interessante vedere come un’azienda dal gusto classico sviluppi filati innovativi e customizzati a seconda delle richieste e necessità dei propri clienti, i quali ricoprono un’area di mercato molto ampia: tessitura, arredamento, maglieria e calzetteria.

This week we had the opportunity to participate at Filo, the international yarns fair which every year takes place at the Palazzo delle Stelline during the Milan fashion week.

Filo is a key event within the textile b2b during which Italian and foreigner high quality spinning present their yarns to apparel and furnishing fabric producers. For many years, the students of the Biella Master participated at the fair to promote the master and tell the beauty of their experience. This year, the 4 of us set up a corner to speak about our journey and to explain the value of our training for the textile sector.

During the two days at the fair we also had the opportunity to spend one day each as guests of four important spinnings, so different from each other but equally interesting and unique: Elisa was a guest at the stand of Worsted Spinning Luisa 1966, Giulia at the one of Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia S.p.A, Margherita G. at I Cotoni Albini S.p.A and Margherita C. at Filati Buratti S.p.A.

The day spent at the stand of Filatura Pettinata Luisa 1966 during Filo was very educational and thanks’ to the spirit and the kindness of the staff the time flew. During the appointments with both Italian and foreign clients, I became aware of how much attention is devoted to customers.

I was surprised by the variety of products they use, at the same time traditional and innovative: the woolen yarn, alpaca and silk are mixed with eccentric fantasies and experimental fibers such us the protein of milk, rose and bamboo. I was also impressed by the stock service flexibility: the spinning offers a wide range of colours and gives the possibility to personalize yarns without asking for minimum quantitative of order. This business proposal allows the Spinning Luisa to be responsive and innovative.

Buratti is a historic Biella company specialized in the Schappe silk.

What is silk Schappe? Until now I thought it was just the silk produced with the fallout of continuous silkworms filament; a less valuable sister of the rare Crevettes.

During the day I spent at the stand of Buratti I discovered that, in reality, the Shappe is a universe: blended with wool, cashmere, viscose and sometimes camel, ranges from classic combed yarns to colourful bouclé shantung. It can be dyed in a uniform wire or mixed with melange effect and is generally Mulberry, white and soft and sometimes Tussah, wild, rustic and copper.

This pleasant day at the Buratti stand has certainly introduced me to silk despite it left me with a great desire to discover the places where these thin masterpieces are created.

If I had to choose one adjective to describe my experience at the stand of Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia it would surely be "complete." Because it represented for me the opportunity to see concretely the course of precious yarns, expertly exposed in samples, and touch with hand the end result of unique and innovative processes I had witnessed during my internship in worsted spinning plant of Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia in Lessona.

From the first minute, after a warm welcome, I received an overview of the rich offer of yarns that the company produce. Later, attending the presentations of the collections, I could deepen the distinctive features and specific applications of each yarn.

In the afternoon I also had the opportunity to discuss on marketing issues related to brands. This confrontation has further made me realize the deep knowledge of fibers and yarns, as well as the passion, that you can find in those who work in all phases of a complex and multifaceted sector such as textiles and has made further complete and instructive this wonderful day.

Yesterday I spent a day with the salespeople of I Cotoni Albini S.p.A., a company of the Albini Group that in 2012 completed the control of its supply chain by adding the spinning stage.

At the stand of the company, I attended the presentation of the autumn/winter yarns collection consisting of fine yarns, made from pure cotton of the highest quality or mixed in intimate blends with wool, silk, cashmere and linen.

It has been interesting to see how a company with classic tastes develop innovative yarns and customizes according to the requests of a large variety of costumers coming from a variegated markets such as weaving, furnishing fabrics, knitwear and hosiery.
