Un anno fa in fretta a passare, quest’anno è già passato, la XXIX edizione del nostro Master delle Fibre Nobili è giunta al capolinea. I treni corrono, passano, quando si ha fretta sembrano lenti e quando non si va di corsa sembra che vadano troppo veloci. Così è stato quest’anno, così è passato il nostro viaggio nell’itinerario tessile. Abbiamo percorso tutte le fermate, abbiamo sostato per più o meno tempo in ciascuna di esse. Dalla prima stazione, quella di filatura pettinata all’ultima stazione di maglieria, passando per le stazioni laniere dell’emisfero australe, per gli immensi laboratori giapponesi, per le distese mongole o per le alture andine, il viaggio è stato lungo. Un viaggio fatto di apprendimento, un viaggio che ti assorbe ed occupa tutte le tue giornate, un viaggio talvolta spensierato e disteso, talvolta duro e frenetico.

Tra le innumerevoli stazioni di sosta una si ripeteva con costanza: Biella. In questa stazione, la nostra base fissa per un anno, c’era sempre ad aspettarci la nostra calda stanzina con il tavolo ovale e sei sedie blu. All’ingresso c’era Paola a salutarci col suo bel sorriso. Ad aspettarci, seguirci ed accompagnarci nel nostro percorso c’era pure il nostro caro e premuroso Ingegner Schiapparelli, che, da lontano o da vicino, ha sempre pianificato tutto per noi e ci ha fatto da impeccabile guida per tutto il percorso.

A Biella c’è anche colui che ha reso possibile il nostro viaggio, colui che ha messo le rotaie e che ha costruito il treno sul quale abbiamo viaggiato, il nostro Presidente Luciano Barbera, instancabile sognatore a cui dobbiamo molto. Con grande affetto a Luciano Barbera, Giovanni Schiapparelli, Paola Fantone, a tutti i sostenitori, alle aziende che ci hanno spalancato le loro porte, ai professori che ci hanno istruito ed a tutto il Consiglio del Biella Master facciamo un ringraziamento chilometrico, lungo quanto le miglia che quest’anno ci ha portato a percorrere.

Vorremmo ringraziare infine le imprese in cui abbiamo svolto il field project: Loro Piana, Marzotto Tessuti, Ratti, Rewoolution e Successori Reda.

Il nostro percorso è ormai concluso ma ci affrettiamo a scrivere una nuova storia, il cui intreccio si costruirà grazie a tutti Voi.

The XXIX edition of our Master of Noble Fibers has come to an end. Trains run, they pass, they seem to go slow and when you don't go running they seem to go too fast. So it was this year, so our journey through the textile itinerary passed. We covered all the stops, we stopped for more or less time in each of them.

The journey was long: we started from the first station, the worsted spinning station, and we passed through the wool stations in the southern hemisphere, the immense Japanese laboratories, the Mongolian expanses and the Andean hills. A journey of learning, a journey that absorbs us and occupies all our days, a journey that is sometimes carefree and relaxed, sometimes hard and frenetic.

Among the countless rest stations, Biella was the one constantly repeated. Here the oval table and six blue chairs was always waiting for us. At the entrance, Paola was there to greet us with her beautiful smile. Waiting for us, following us and accompanying us on our journey was also our dear and caring Engineer Schiapparelli, who, from far or near, has always planned everything for us. He has been an impeccable guide throughout the journey. In Biella there is also the one who made our journey possible, the one who put the rails and who built the train on which we traveled, our President Luciano Barbera, a tireless dreamer to whom we owe a lot.

With great affection to Luciano Barbera, Giovanni Schiapparelli, Paola Fantone, to all the supporters, to the companies that opened their doors to us, to the teachers who have taught us and to the whole Council of the Biella Master, we would like to thank them in kilometers, as long as miles that this year has led us to travel. Finally, we would like to thank the companies in which we carried out the field project: Loro Piana, Marzotto Tessuti, Ratti, Rewoolution and Successori Reda. This journey is now over but we are going to weave a new story, whose plot will be written thanks to all of you.
