Immersi nella filatura pettinata: dalla fibra al filato
Il 7 Gennaio ha avuto inizio la XXXIV edizione del Biella Master delle Fibre Nobili per i sei nuovi masterini selezionati a novembre a seguito del corso propedeutico. Anche per loro, il primo di una lunga serie di stage formativi in aziende prestigiose promotrici del generoso progetto del Biella Master, ha preso luogo dal 13 al 22 gennaio a seguito di una settimana di formazione teorica.
È la filatura pettinata la protagonista di quest’ultimo, fase essenziale della lunga e complessa filiera tessile, durante la quale si preparano le fibre di diversa natura tramite una serie di processi industriali quali la fase di mescolatura delle fibre dei tops, la ripettinatura, la preparazione alla filatura, la filatura, il vaporizzo e la roccatura. Lo stage ha il compito di offrire ai giovani studenti la possibilità di conoscere in prima persona tali processi tramite la conoscenza approfondita di professionisti del settore che li guidano alla scoperta del dietro le quinte della filiera, risultando dunque un’opportunità unica e significativa.
L’azienda Filati Buratti S.r.l. che, come per l’edizione precedente, ha gentilmente offerto cinque delle sei borse di studio ai masterini, ha aperto le porte per questo primo stage a Beatrice Dario e Leonardo Ruggenenti, introducendoli al mondo della lavorazione e della filatura della seta. A partire dal magazzino delle materie prime fino al laboratorio di controllo qualità in cui vengono attentamente ispezionati fibre e filati, il processo di filatura della seta e l’attenzione che necessita è unico nel suo genere. Beatrice e Leonardo hanno avuto modo di conoscere una delle fibre più antiche e preziose del mondo, analizzandole attentamente peculiarità e differenze con altre fibre come la lana o il lino. All’interno dell’ufficio commerciale inoltre, è stato spiegato loro il processo di certificazione circa la sostenibilità delle materie prime e dei processi di lavorazione, da sempre oggetto di particolare attenzione da parte dell’azienda.
Michele Armani e Rachele Plebani sono invece stati accolti da Lanificio Successori Reda S.p.A., azienda ormai ben consolidata nel panorama Biellese, specializzata in filatura pettinata di lana merinos pregiata. Tra i reparti di preparazione alla filatura, filatura ad anello, roccatura e ritorcitura, Michele e Rachele hanno approfondito la conoscenza dei macchinari moderni con automatizzazione di passaggi specifici dei processi industriali e l’innovazione nella ricerca di nuove fibre e altri progetti con focus sulla sostenibilità. Il controllo qualità in svariate parti dello sviluppo del prodotto tessile, sia con strumenti di laboratorio come il dinamometro o l’Uster, o ancora con dispositivi sui macchinari per controllare omogeneità del tracciato e colore, ha fornito loro prova della massima ricerca nella qualità del prodotto del Lanificio Reda.
Infine, Carola Ciliesa e Francesco Porro hanno partecipato allo stage formativo presso lo stabilimento di Lessona di Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia, un'eccellenza nella produzione di filati pregiati per il ciclo di filatura pettinata. Oltre agli aspetti tecnici del ciclo produttivo, Carola e Francesco hanno potuto esaminare in dettaglio le procedure di controllo qualità, un elemento fondamentale per garantire l’eccellenza del prodotto. Hanno inoltre osservato la campioneria, i macchinari di maglieria, le applicazioni dei finissaggi e visionato le cartelle stagionali, strumenti indispensabili per la presentazione e la commercializzazione dei filati sul mercato. Questa esperienza non solo ha permesso loro di acquisire competenze tecniche e operative, ma ha anche offerto una visione approfondita del processo produttivo tessile. Grazie al supporto di operatori esperti e appassionati, Carola e Francesco hanno consolidato le loro conoscenze e maturato una maggiore consapevolezza delle dinamiche di eccellenza che contraddistinguono il settore tessile Made in Italy.

The Biella Master of Nobel Fibers started its XXXIV edition on January 7th with six new students who were selected in November after the preparatory course. Between the 13th and 22nd of January, after one week of theoretical meetings about worsted spinning, the new students, thanks to the prestigious promoting companies of the Biella Master, were able to experience the first of many important internships.
As said, the worsted spinning process was the main object of this first internship, an essential and complex step of the textile supply chain. During this stage, the different fibers are prepared and transformed into yarns thanks to different processes such as the blending of the tops, the recombing, the spinning preparation, the spinning, the steaming, and the sizing. The internship has the purpose of helping the young students to learn, firsthand, about the textile supply chain through the experience and knowledge of the company workers. This type of experiences are priceless and irreplaceable.
Filati Buratti S.r.l. which kindly donated five of the six scholarships, as they did last year, has opened its doors for this first internship to Beatrice Dario and Leonardo Ruggenenti, guiding them into the processing of silk. Starting from the raw materials up until the quality control, where fibers and yarns are thoroughly tested, the whole process of silk spinning and the care put into it is extremely unique. Beatrice and Leonardo were allowed to learn about one of the oldest fibers ever existed and were able to analyze its peculiarity and uniqueness together with other fibers such as wool and linen. Finally, during their stay in the commercial office, the students were guided through the whole sustainability issue and its certificates starting from raw materials to the processing of the fibers, for which the company has always had particular attention.
Michele Armani and Rachele Plebani were welcomed by Lanificio Successori Reda S.p.A., a company that specializes in the worsted spinning of super fine merinos wool and that has a long and important history inside the Biella industrial environment. Between the departments of spinning preparation, ring spinning, sizing, and twisting, Michele and Rachele were able to deepen their knowledge of the modern machinery used, with automation of specific steps of the industrial process. Moreover, they were able to learn more about the new innovative fibers and other company projects involving the issue of sustainability. The quality control throughout each step of the worsted spinning thanks to the use of the Uster or the dynamometer, or even quality devices controllers inside the working machines was proof of the deep quality standards that Lanificio Reda has reached.
Lastly, Carola Ciliesa and Francesco Porro have been able to do their first internship inside the Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia Lessona establishment, an excellence in the production of worsted spinning fine yarns. Apart from the technical aspects of the industrial cycle, Carola and Francesco were able to examine the different tests carried on inside the quality control office. Those tests represent the main step to guarantee the valuable quality of the product. The students were also able to observe the sample collections, the knitwear machinery, and the finishing applications and took a peek into the sample season folders, which are essential for the presentation and commercialization of the products. This experience not only has left them with operational and technical skills but also with a more complete view of the textile supply chain. Thanks to the support of passionate and knowledgeable workers, Carola and Francesco were able to affirm their consciousness of the processes and gain more awareness of the different dynamics that help make the Made in Italy industry so unique.
